### Printing and Building
As with most NomNom Figures files, there weren't really any major issues with the print. The base took a lot of space in 4-5 different parts. In the future I may be curious to try and do more bases on the FDM printer but that's for another day.
You can see I had a slight hiccup on Broly's hair as well.
### Color Choices
Nothing too special to call out here, other than the yellow was a pain. I haven't done much yellow and I'm sure many people know it's pretty hard. As noted in my lessons learned below, you need a pink base coat before yellow. The black primer for shadows was a poor idea and I had to redo it essentially as it was too green.
I still struggle with eyes.
The gold on the base was a TurboDork color I had. I haven't used them in a while because they were pretty thick and I never had much luck, but it actually worked out decent this time. It just needed to be thinned a lot and airbrushed on.

## Lessons Learned
- **Black Primer Tips:** black primer goes on easy, but you definitely have to then follow up with white afterwards before going into any colors. Trying to go straight to base color after black is basically impossible (maybe for metals if doing silver base next). I tried blue for pants and it was too desaturated and looked more purple than blue. It does give a path for shading though because you basically start with shadows and buildup rather than adding shadows over white later. Easier too in some ways like hair (trying to spray shadows in deep parts later hard)
- much harder to see flaws to touch up with black primer than gray. They pop out when you do the second coat in white.
- **silicone brush for mixing paint works great**. better than toothpicks and easier to clean than regular brushed
- **Use a pink base coat when painting yellow**. yellow is tricky. I tried over pink like seen in some vids but wasn't done exactly right and it leads to issues. you need solid pink base, then white highlights, then (several) layers of yellow I think. I did black primer, then white (leaving black on shadows) then pink, then yellow. First layer of yellow isn't enough, it's orange over pink. needs more. The yellow where I still had darker/black shadows turned more green, not really yellow (or definitely wrong yellow). So I think solid pink, no black anywhere, some white highlights to lighten pink, then yellow. should leave more orange/warm in shadows and needs plenty of yellow where you want yellow
- [ ] try gloss clear coat before wash to help it not stick to smooth but go into crevices #hobbies/models
- [ ] Revisit canon camera settings - the JPEG are all too bright/white washed. #hobbies/models
