## Intro
See [[Zero WIP]] for some struggles.
Not going to spend too much time writing this as I'm ready to move on. This kit was kind of a nightmare and I'm ready to get it out of my mind.
I had high hopes and excitement starting off - a kit with ball joints. I could pose it, something different than most of my other resin kits. Oh, it didn't come with ball joints and they are super hard to find and have different styles/sizes/etc. on top of that.
Because of the ball joints, and a fair amount of parts, this kit was hard to build. In the end, it's basically a static kit. I'm not sure any joints move anymore after actually putting it together with glue and trying to get it to not fall over. I think the neck ball joint would work and head could move, until I had to attach the hair which has nowhere to attach well to on the head so I also had to glue it to the back shoulders as well as the head - rendering the neck joint useless. Also, the only joint I had that I could make work was too large, so the neck is unusually long. This really ruins the look as well.
You can tell as the kit went on I got lazier and spent less time on it. I think my base paint job is good - Alclad and solid colors. However, when I tried to add some detail colors here and there i just pulled out the brush and didn't want to mask. I did some pretty quick rounds on it (the more pinker tones, whites) and moved on. In the end, the details look pretty rough. **I will give myself a little credit actually - I didn't feel like I was rushing the brushed paint jobs when I was actually brushing. The camera obviously brings out flaws a lot more as well. However, it's clear that if I masked and airbrushed more, it certainly would have looked a lot better.**

## Lessons Learned
- **Never Build a Kit With Ball Joints:** Enough said. I don't think I have the desire to do this again. If I ever do, the kit needs to come with the exact ball joints I need and I need to really really love the kit and have a reason to do it.
- **Airbrush is a better paint job:** I keep going back and forth on should I airbrush more or less. Over the past few kits, I am starting to acknowledge again that airbrushed kits really do have a better paint job. Smooth, consistent, etc....even when using wet palette. Now, I have some great results using a brush such as [[Model Site/Figures/14 - Tifa Lockhart/Tifa Lockhart|Tifa Lockhart]] but these past few kits I feel like 75% of what I hand brushed I regret and think "I should have used the airbrush for better results on that". I need to figure out what the difference is - why it worked pretty well on Tifa but on other kits like this one I just don't like the results. Maybe I've just gotten worse at painting. That could very well be it as I spend less time doing it.
